The last of the true front
engined Ferrari sports cars,
the 365GTB/4 and GTS/4 (open
spyder version) were both
more commonly known as the
"Ferrari Daytona". The Daytona
was of a conventional 2
door, 2 seater sports coupe
layout, (or 2 seater spyder)
styled by Pininfarina. The
reworked V12 displaced 4390cc
and propelled these stunning
cars to a top speed of 174mph,
making the Daytona the fastest
road cars in the world.
Early Daytona's had a Perspex
headlamp panel with the
lights mounted behind, later
cars used a much neater
pop-up lamp design.
Just
over 1400 Daytona's were
produced from 1968-1974,
most GTS/4 spyders were
exported to the USA.
